
As an organization, we do a LOT of volunteering and fundraising to help offset the costs of our kids participating in local and national tournaments. ALL parents are expected to volunteer with the club as part of their student being a member.
September through May, we work concessions and sell chess equipment at all chess tournaments held at Diamondhead Education Center in Burnsville. We generally need at least 10 volunteers on those Saturdays.
During the school year, we sell butter braids and pizzas, and also do bagging at grocery stores as well as restaurant nights.
Our biggest fundraiser is in March, when we host an online Silent Auction. All families are expected to contribute at least one item to the auction. This can be an item you solicited from a local business or organization, a basket you made or a gift certificate you purchased. Be creative!
In the summer, we hold several car washes and hot dog stand fundraisers as well as volunteer at the Burnsville Fire Muster in early September.
